I will be upgrading my rig tonight after work. I wont be on till late if at all. Spent time last night backing up some pictures and some other files.
This is the low down. I'm Switching out my Phenom black addition quad core for the new and improved Phenom II 945 quad core 3gig processor and Tenshi is going to over clock that for me to 3.4 Tenshi say's that that .4 is not going to increase the heat level that would cause concern and I save 40.00
Tenshi is hooking me up with Windows7 and Antivirus stuff. So I should be good to go.
Your probably wondering what I'm going to do with the two EVGA 8800 gts 640mb cards I have and the 650wt power supply and phenom Black addition quad core processor?
All I can say is.....Make me an offer if you need some parts! I should be up and running late Friday night early Saturday. wish me luck. Tenshi will be standing over me when i switch everything out and showing me first hand how to install windows 7 and how to over clock which I know nothing about. I'll be up to his store at 7:00pm eastern working on this project. See ya soon!
I don't know if you have purchased the power supply yet, but I was thinking about it and a 1000 watt ps may be overkill. The ATI 5 series cards seem to be a lot more energy efficient than the 4 series. The specs on newegg only recommend a 600 watt power supply and that is using crossfire. Unless your running 4 hard drives and 4 dvd drives you might think about getting a 700-900 watt power supply. Not only will it save you money on the part, it will also save you money on your power bill. Just something to think about. I can understand going with a 1000 watt to future proof your system as well.
Nice, Gator! I have two of those ATI 5870 cards in Crossfire. I play BF2: BC2 at the highest graphics settings and I can spot folks along way off, and still have great frame rates.
